What is a 1-week Meal Plan subscription?

A 1-week subscription meal plan is a convenient way to enjoy our meals regularly while saving money. You will be billed every week for the 1-week subscription, and you can save up to 5% on the cost of each meal with a subscription. This plan offers flexibility, allowing you to skip delivery dates if you will be out of town or need a break. Subscriptions renew every Monday, regardless of the initial purchase date. If you would like to add multiple weeks to your subscription period, simply email us at info@cleanplates.ca and let us know how many weeks you would like to be billed for.

When will my meals be ready?

Orders placed by 6:00 PM on Thursday will be available for delivery on the upcoming Sunday. Orders placed by 6:00 PM on Sunday will be available for delivery on the upcoming Wednesday. Our delivery window for both Sunday and Wednesday is between 2:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Please note that, at times, we may need to change and modify your delivery times without notice due to uncontrollable issues such as weather.

What time will I receive my meals on the day of delivery, and will I be notified of my delivery?

Our deliveries are completed every Wednesday and Sunday. Please refer to your confirmation email for the date of your delivery. Deliveries can arrive between 2:00 PM and 9:00 PM on our two delivery days. We cannot provide an exact delivery window at the time you place your order. Deliveries are completed by our courier partner Trexity. When your delivery is scheduled, you will receive an email from Trexity confirming the delivery information. If the information is incorrect or you need to add additional details, please follow the steps in the email to ensure accuracy on the day of delivery. On the day of delivery, you will receive an email and SMS text when your order has been picked up by Trexity at Clean Plates, letting you know your order is on the way. A live tracking link will be provided so you can know exactly when your order will arrive. Once your delivery is complete, you can click this link to see a photo of your delivery. Upon arrival, the courier will leave the order in a safe spot by your front door. If delivering to a condo/apartment, the courier will leave the order at your unit door if permitted to use the elevator or with the concierge. If the courier is unable to access your building and you are unreachable by phone, the order will be left between the double doors of the entrance, or in the lobby or mailroom if permitted. You will receive a final email and SMS text letting you know your order has been delivered along with a photo of your delivery so you know exactly where it was left. You can view the photo via the email or by clicking the live tracking link sent in the first text notification. You will also be able to rate your driver to ensure driver accountability. If you live in a condo/apartment, please provide a buzzer or access number to gain entrance to your unit, concierge, or mail/parcel room. Include any instructions in the delivery note section to assist us in completing a successful, contact-free delivery. Please note that deliveries are one-way and cannot be returned to Clean Plates for re-delivery. Clean Plates and Trexity are not responsible for your order once it is left at your door, with the concierge, or in the lobby or mailroom.

What if no one is home to receive the delivery?

Food safety is our top priority. We use a recyclable box with a special insulation liner and ice packs, ensuring your meals stay safe for up to 3 hours after delivery. If you live in an apartment building and our courier partner cannot reach you or access your apartment, your meals will be left in the lobby or at the front entrance. You will receive a text message with a photo, so please retrieve your meals as soon as possible. Please note that deliveries are one-way and cannot be returned to Clean Plates for re-delivery.

What are the differences between all of the available DIET PREFERENCES and MEAL PLAN DIET TYPES?

What are the differences between all of the available Diet Preferences and Meal Plan Diet Types? We offer six different diet preferences that you can select under your profile. Choosing your preferred diet preferences will help filter the meals that align with your diet goals. You can select options like gluten-free (G) or dairy-free (D) meals. Additionally, you can choose from our meal plan types: Balanced Gourmet (BG), Low Carb (LG), FITNESS (F), and FITNESS LOW CARB (FC). Balanced Gourmet (BG): Fresh, delicious, diverse, and nutritionally complete, this well-balanced meal plan includes proteins, carbs, and vegetables. Meals are available in standard and large sizes, and this plan features an 8-week rotating menu. Low Carb Gourmet (LG): Ideal for those looking to lose weight or follow a grain-free diet, this plan includes meals packed with veggies and proteins that promote healthy fat burning. Meals are available in standard and large sizes. FITNESS (F): Perfect for intense macro counters, these meals are simple and clean, including proteins, carbs, and vegetables. They are great for achieving fitness goals or enjoying straightforward, dairy-free, and gluten-free options. Meals are available in standard and large sizes. FITNESS LOW CARB (FC): Designed to accelerate your weight-cutting goals, these simple meals are high in protein, low in calories and carbs, and feature basic seasoning. Grains and potatoes are swapped for an extra serving of nutritious vegetables. Meals are available in standard and large sizes.

Where can I see your menu and the nutritional information for my meals?

Our menu changes weekly. You can find the latest menu and nutritional information on our home page. Simply click the “View Menu” button at the top of the home page. Then, select one of the order dates to see the menu available for that date. Click any meal description to view the nutritional information. Additionally, nutrition facts will be located on the meal containers when they are delivered.

What is the difference between a One-Time Order and a 1-Week Subscription Meal Plan?

A One-Time Order is a single order delivered on the date you choose. There are no renewals or commitments. Simply order a minimum of 4 meals per delivery date and proceed to checkout. A 1-Week Subscription Meal Plan is a recurring plan that will auto-renew each week on Monday, regardless of the initial purchase date, until you tell us to stop. If a renewal fails, we will attempt to renew your subscription three more times before it is auto-canceled. Please note that you need to submit a request to cancel before your renewal occurs, if we are notified after a renewal has been processed you will need to complete all the deliveries in your new subscription period. If you decide to cancel halfway through your subscription period, the remaining deliveries in your subscription period will need to be completed. Your subscription will then not renew. Some additional cancellation requirements apply. See our cancellation policy for more information.

Can I pick my own meals?

Yes, you can choose your own meals! If you purchase a One-Time Order, you will be asked to select your meals upon checkout. If you are on a Subscription Meal Plan, you can select your meals for each day in your billing cycle by going to the Meal Selection tab on your account page. You can only select meals for the days that have been paid for or are within your subscription period. When your plan auto-renews, you can select your new week’s menu items. If you do not select your meals by the order cut-off time (Thursdays at 9:00 PM for Sunday orders and Sundays at 9:00 PM for Wednesday orders), we will auto-select your meals for you based on your dietary restrictions and preferences. If no diet preferences are indicated, we will auto-select meals for you from the Balanced Gourmet Plan menu. Please ensure your diet preferences, allergies, and food dislikes are up to date in your My Profile tab. If you fail to select your own meals and are not satisfied with the meals we selected, unfortunately, refunds will not be offered.

How many days’ worth of food do I get per week?

As you process your online order, you will have the option to choose the number of meals you would like to receive. For A la Carte One-Time Delivery orders, you simply need to check out with a minimum of 4 meals for a single delivery. For Meal Plans, you can select meals for 5, 6, or 7 days out of the week and then choose 1 to 4 entrees per day. You can also add breakfast to your plans, which will be counted as one of your daily meals. Please note that breakfast meals are only available in one size, regardless of the portion size selected. You can also add extra meals, such as breakfast or meals from other meal plan types, in addition to your required meals.

Is there a larger portion size available?

Yes, we offer extra protein in our larger portion-sized meals, called Protein Plus meals. These meals come with an additional 2 oz of raw protein. Please note that breakfast meals do not come in a large size. Small variations in portion sizes may occur.

What if I have a specific food preference or food allergy?

You can select your food dislikes and allergies in the profile section from a list we provide. Meals that do not comply with your dietary restrictions will not be included in your meal selection. While we cannot always accommodate all dietary dislikes/preferences, we will do our best. We accommodate the following food allergies: Almond, Dairy, Eggs, Fish, Gluten, Peanuts, Shellfish, and Tree Nuts. Our meal labels will advise on these specific allergies. If you have concerns about an allergy not listed here, you can review the ingredient list for each meal to check for any allergens. Most of our meals are dairy-free and gluten-free, with a few exceptions. If a recipe requires a dairy ingredient, we try to substitute it with a non-dairy equivalent. You can review all the ingredients for each meal to ensure they meet your dietary requirements.

If I have a subscription plan, can I skip a delivery?

Yes, you can skip a delivery! Simply log into your profile and skip any upcoming deliveries. To skip a Sunday delivery, please do so by 9 PM the Thursday before. To skip a Wednesday delivery, please do so by 9 PM the Sunday before. It is best to skip your deliveries by logging into your account. If you email us or leave a telephone message requesting to skip your delivery, please ensure it is received before our order cut-off times. If the required notice is not provided, your delivery will continue as planned. However, you can always freeze your meals and enjoy them later.

What is the cancelation policy for a subscription?

When you purchase a subscription, you need to complete the entire subscription period. Canceling a subscription before the period is completed will not result in a cash refund. To stop your subscription from auto-renewing, submit a cancellation request located in your profile under the Subscription tab. If you have remaining deliveries in your subscription period, those deliveries will continue but your subscription will not auto-renew. If you wish to cancel any remaining deliveries, the value will be added as credit to your Clean Plates digital wallet for future use. No cash refunds will be given for incomplete subscriptions. All Subscription renew every Monday regardless of the initial purchase date. You can find your renewal date under the Subscription tab in your profile. You will also receive your subscription renewal date via email after checkout and after a renewal is processed. Notify us before the renewal date if you want to cancel your auto-renewal. Notifying us after a payment has been made will not result in a cash refund. Refunds are only available as Clean Plates credit to your account. Please note, you forfeit any discounts or coupons applied if your subscription is not completed. If you want to cancel any upcoming pre-paid deliveries, please email info@cleanplates.ca before our order cut-off times. To cancel a Sunday order, let us know by 9 PM the Thursday before. To cancel a Wednesday order, let us know by 9 PM the Sunday before. Cancellation emails received after business hours are considered received on the next business day.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, as well as Clean Plates gift cards.

What is the best method to reheat meals?

Meals can be reheated in the microwave, oven, or on the stove. Always reheat to an internal temperature of at least 165˚F and remove any portion cups from the containers. Reheating times may vary based on your appliance. Oven: Use an oven-safe dish. Reheat at 275˚F for 20-30 minutes. Microwave: Remove portion cups and microwave for 2-3 minutes. Stove: Use an oven-safe dish or pan to heat your meals. Our chefs cook all fish and beef to medium-rare to avoid drying out during reheating. If you prefer well-done, simply increase the reheat time until the desired temperature is reached.

Are your meals frozen?

Our meals are fresh, never frozen, and hand-delivered the same day they are packaged. Meals last between 2 and 4 days in the fridge from when you receive them. Each meal will have a freeze by date located on the label.

Are the containers you use environmentally friendly?

Clean Plates is committed to being eco-friendly. Our base containers are made from natural, unbleached fiber pulp and are fully compostable. They contain a PLA lining that locks in moisture. Our lids are 100% recyclable. Our plates do not contain plastic or wax lining and are fully soak-proof. Additionally, they are safe to use in the microwave without the worry of harmful chemicals seeping into your food.

What happens if my delivery date falls on a holiday?

Clean Plates is closed for all major holidays and Civic Holidays. Clean Plates is also closed for all major long weekends including Family Day, Victoria Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving etc...There will be no Sunday delivery on long weekends. Clean Plates will also be closed during Christmas and New Years.

Can I refer a friend?

Yes! We encourage you to invite all of your friends. Simply log into your account, go to the profile section, and click "Invite your friend." You will be provided with a unique referral link. Share this link with your friends and ask them to use it to visit our website. After your friend registers an account and makes their first purchase, both you and your friend will receive $20.00 in Clean Plates credit, which can be used on a future checkout. Please note that by referring a friend, you agree to our Terms & Conditions.

How do coupons work?

Promo codes and coupons can only be applied during the checkout process and cannot be applied after an order has been completed. Coupons and promos are not redeemable for cash. If a coupon is used to purchase a subscription, you may forfeit the discount value if the subscription period is not completed. We announce all of our promotions on social media, so be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay updated on the latest deals!

If i dont select my meals by the cut off time, how are my meals selected for me?

If you haven't selected your meals by our order cut-off times, our chefs will choose your meals based on your customer profile, including any food dislikes, allergies, and diet preferences you have set. If you have not set your meal preferences, Clean Plates will select meals for you from our Balanced Gourmet menu. Please note that there are no refunds for meals selected by our chefs after the cut-off times, as it is the customer's responsibility to select their own meals. Meal selections cannot be modified after the cut-off times.

What are your standard portion sizes?

For most meals, our standard portion sizes are as follows: Balanced Gourmet Meals & Fitness Meals: 6 oz raw protein, 80-100 grams cooked vegetables, 3/4-1 cup cooked grains/rice, 100=150 grams starches, 1/2 cup cooked quinoa, or 150 grams cooked pasta. Low Carb Gourmet Meals & Fitness Low Carb Meals: 6 oz raw protein, 180-200 grams cooked vegetables. Please note that not all meals follow the above portion sizes, and small variations may occur. For Large Portion Sizes/Protein Plus, we add up to 2 oz raw protein to the standard portion sizes mentioned above.

Can I make changes to my order after the order cut-off times?

Our order cut-off time for a Sunday order is 9 PM the Thursday before. Our order cut-off time for a Wednesday order is 9 PM the Sunday before. Unfortunately, we cannot make any changes to an upcoming delivery once the cut-off time has passed. This includes changing meals, adding meals, canceling a delivery, skipping a delivery, changing meal preferences, or changing delivery addresses. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

How do you redeem a gift card from Clean Plates?

When you receive a Clean Plates gift card you will be sent an email from the sender with your gift card code and value. Simply click the link in the email to be directed to sign up for a Clean Plates account. To redeem the gift card you will be directed to you PROFILE page. Form your profile page click the "Start spending that gift money" button located on the right hand side of your profile page. A window will pop up that requires you to enter the gift card code from your email and click Add Balance. Once this is completed, the gift card value will be added to your Clean Plates digital wallet to be used at checkout.

What is Clean Plates refund policy?

All refunds are issued as Clean Plates digital credit, which is applied to your Clean Plates digital wallet for future purchases. Refunds are in the form of Clean Plates digital credit only and will not be awarded once production has begun. Credits will not be given for randomized meal selections or for meals selected by our chefs if the customer did not choose their preferred meals for each delivery date. If an ongoing subscription is canceled and there are remaining future/prepaid delivery dates, you can choose to complete the upcoming deliveries or request the equivalent value as credit to be applied to your account for future use. If you wish to skip or cancel your order, please notify us by the order cut-off times. A photo is requested before a credit is processed. Requests for refunds must be received before the meal's expiry date. Credits will not be issued if the expiry date has passed or for meals that have been frozen or consumed after the expiry date/freeze-by date. If you received the wrong portion size, a credit will be issued for the difference in price between the standard and large portions. If an ingredient is missing from your order, you will receive a credit for the value of the missing ingredient. For example, if the sauce is missing, you will receive a credit for the value of the missing sauce, not the entire meal. All credits are subject to approval by Clean Plates and our Terms of Service. What makes your ingredients “quality"?

We use only natural, fresh ingredients purchased from local farms and markets. Nothing is ever frozen. Our beef is grass-fed, and our chicken is cage-free and grain-fed. Both are steroid- and hormone-free. All our poultry and ground beef is Halal.

Do you offer Halal options?

Yes, All our poultry and ground beef meals are Halal. Currently our steak: top sirloin and flank is not Halal.
